It’s designed to be locked with strong encryption and released only to the people you choose, after your passing is confirmed. It is not a will and doesn’t replace one. Afterlife Album is a proudly veteran-owned business.
Is it easy enough for my grandparents?
We hope so. There’s no app to install and no password to remember: they sign in with a short code sent to their email, then write a few lines or press record. If they’d like help getting started, call 714-559-4979 or email memories@afterlifealbum.com.
Can I give it as a last-minute gift?
Yes. A gift creates an invite link right after checkout, and you can print a gift certificate with a QR code to hand over or wrap. You can also request a gift card, pick a delivery date, and we’ll call or email you to finish.
What if Afterlife Album closes?
You can download your whole album (photos, videos, voice recordings and stories) at any time. If Afterlife Album ever plans to close, we intend to give you reasonable advance notice and time to download everything, and where possible we’ll try to arrange a move to another provider.
Is an album a will?
No. It is a keepsake of stories, voice, and everyday personality. It does not replace a will, and it does not carry legal instructions.
Who can see what I add?
You can, while you are signed in. A gift or family album opens for the person who claims the invite. A shared page is visible to anyone with its link, and only after you turn sharing on. You can turn that link off again.
Do you store passwords or account logins?
No. Do not type passwords, passcodes, wallet keys, or financial logins anywhere on this site. Sign-in uses a short-lived email code, and only a hash of that code is kept. The private Legacy Vault is coming soon.
Can I download my album?
Yes, anytime. From your album, press “Download my album” to save every photo, video, and voice recording plus a PDF of the stories. It’s yours to keep.
How does a gift work?
After checkout you get an invite link to send yourself. If you enter the recipient’s email, only a sign-in for that email can claim it. If you leave the email blank, anyone with the link can claim it. They fill it in at their own pace.
What is in the family package?
One checkout creates several invites, and each person builds an album of their own. It is not a shared login.
How long will a page stay online?
We can’t promise how long any website will last, so we make it easy to keep your own copy. You can download your whole album anytime.
Is the album encrypted?
Albums are stored with a hosting provider that encrypts data at rest. A shared page can be opened by anyone who has its link, so keep sharing off for anything private. The private Legacy Vault is coming soon; until then, please don’t put secrets in an album.
Can I record my voice?
Yes. The story step can record in the browser when you allow microphone access, or you can upload a recording. Playback depends on the device you use later.
