From a veteran-owned business

A veteran memorial album that honors their service and their life

A veteran’s story is bigger than a uniform photo and a folded flag. A veteran memorial album from Afterlife Album keeps their service photos together with the stories told by family, friends, and the people who served beside them. As a veteran-owned business, this one matters to us.

Not sure which fits? Take the 2-question quiz.

What is a veteran memorial album?

A veteran memorial album honors someone who served, after they have passed. It can cover their time in service and the whole life around it: where they grew up, why they joined, the friends they made, and the family they came home to.

Because it is digital, relatives and fellow service members in different places can each add what they remember.

What to include

  • Service photos, unit pictures, and photos from deployments or bases, if the family has them.
  • Copies of letters home, ribbons, patches, and other keepsakes, photographed.
  • Stories from the people they served with: how they met, what they were like, a moment they shared.
  • Family memories from before and after their service.
  • Voice recordings from family members telling the stories they heard most often.
  • Their own words, if you have them: a saved voicemail, a recorded interview, or a handwritten note.

How Afterlife Album works

You start the album and add a few photos and memories, then invite the people you trust. They sign in with a short code sent to their email and can write or record their voice in the browser, with no app to install.

Albums are private by default. One album is $79, and the 4-album package is $249. If your family also wants a public record, the Library of Congress Veterans History Project collects veterans’ accounts. It is a separate program, and we are not affiliated with it.

Gentle tips

  • Reach out to old unit friends early. A short message asking for one story often brings several.
  • Let people share only what they’re comfortable sharing. Some memories are heavy.
  • If the veteran in your family is still with you, our questions to ask a veteran can help you hear their stories in their own voice.

Common questions

Can people who served with them contribute?

Yes. You can invite anyone you choose, including fellow service members, and they can add photos, writing, or voice recordings.

Is a veteran memorial album public?

No. It is private by default, and you decide who can view or contribute.

Can I make one while the veteran is still living?

Is Afterlife Album connected to the VA or the Veterans History Project?

No. We are an independent, veteran-owned business and are not affiliated with any government program.

How much does it cost?
